It is an ongoing debate between “Designers” (artists) and “Developers” (Coders) as to who is more qualified to build a great website. I consider myself a “Hybrid” Designer/Developer. I believe that to be ultimately qualified, you need to have a broad scope of knowledge and ability in both design and coding. However, it can take years and years to become proficient in both disciplines. I built my first website for my own company in 1996 and never looked back. Over the years, I have learned by doing. I do not claim to be a “Developer”, let alone a “Coder”. I am actually far more proficient in design and layout. However, I know how to read, manipulate and alter PHP code strings to make them do just about anything you want them to. I can work inside of MySQL databases, debug error messages and get your website humming!
